<sticky> If you are reading this, then presumably you have had some thoughts, ideas, possibly wishes regarding what you want to get out of your training.
Whatever they may be – and there is no right or wrong – they should be cystallised into something firm, to stop being dragged off track. From there we are able to track backwards and work out the intermediate steps required to reach the objective.
The final objective need not be something that has to be quantified numerically (e.g. run 30km, 30 pull ups, national tennis champion), but it could be an overall concept.
For most people once they actually try to analyse this, it distills down to some general fitness/health improvement.
Personally, I like to say to people I train, that there is no right or wrong, just different.
I have my way, others have theirs. I try hard not to criticise, but to understand why and what benefits a method may have.
An important part of the process is to make sure what you are doing is aligning with your objectives.
A significant part of this process is to understand that there is no perfect workout. They all bring some advantages, and have some disadvantages. Not many people consciously assess the disadvantages, and then take the measures to fill the gaps. Or even to consciously accept which negatives as a price worth paying.
This blog is a repository to touch on at a high level on thoughts and ideas which I bring to the help I give people. I hope the above makes sense to you, and if you are interested in more of the concepts pls have a browse through the blog.
